New member looking at info on Gen 3 RX7
Hi guys,
I'm Rich from the UK, Hertfordshire, just north of London.
I have joined here to get advice and info on the RX7 and rotary engines. I have heard horror stories of the rotaries, but I am sure like all hi performance Jap cars I have had that they they all just need to be looked after and treated well and they will treat you well.
Anyway enough of my ramblings....HI
Rich

Welcome. There are a bunch of people from the UK here.
I think your assumptions are about right. Its about proper maintenance, proper mods and proper driving. That said, the FD aka 3rd gen has more problem areas than most other RX7s mostly regarding the sequential turbo control system. Age helps some of these parts (such as wiring and underhood solenoids, coolant hoses, vacuum hoses etc) die an early death as well.
Spend some time reading the 3rd gen FAQ thread for archived knowledge on the car. I still refer to that thread regularly when troubleshooting. Post up any questions you have and we'll see what we can do to help you out.
