New Member, Currently Investigating the RX7 market

Currently located near Salt Lake City Utah. I am currently the owner of a newly built 2000 Impreza RSTi which led me down the road and passion for JDM builds. While considering what my next build should be I decided that I really had an appreciation for the RX7 and so now I am doing my diligence to understand the car more before entering the buyers market.

While I can appreciate the look of an FC I’m in the market for an FD. I have been looking around locally and checking out RHD specialists for imported JDM cars as well.

Up to this point I have been watching rebuild videos and looking at common failure points. Just doing my diligence so I know what I am stepping into.

My hope is to start getting an idea for the best best places for sourcing parts, tuners and reputable shops for initial compression checks and of course perusing the classifieds.

Ah, the FC is an excellent platform and is straightforward for maintenance. The FD looks and drives amazingly well but it's more complicated to work on. You may learn that the FD has a few common failure points. It becomes amplified when more modifications are added to each system. I like what your head is thinking. The more research, the better! When you have a question then don't hesitate to ask!

With the 25 rear rule it seems like a lot of the lower mileage examples are going to be pretty common but the big importers are charging that FD premium. Seems like it makes more sense to buy a LHD domestic at the moment for what the big names are charging.
