Hi, Carl. It just takes a few posts the regular forums here before being granted permissions to post in the classifieds. What's the back story on the car? Have you had it long? Know any of its history?

The car was purchased new by my wife in 1979 after being on a waiting list for several months. We were driving it on a fairly regular basis till 1993. Original engine was replaced at about 90K miles with a low-mileage one from Japan. Still have the original engine, extra back glass/hatch,
a new-in-box factory front fender (original on car is dented), other extra parts. Car was Ziebart coated new, no rust. Not running.

Original owner, nice. The car is a 4 speed then? Why the engine change? Did it start smoking or something? Are you sure you don't want to fix it up some, get it running again and hang on to it a little longer? 45 years is a long time. You should be about eligible to post in the classifieds if wanted.

Carl, it's really amazing to know there are still original owners out there! I have two RX-7's that I purchased from the original owners. Both have incredible history and have lived incredible lives. I can only imagine the stories you and your wife have with the car! I would love to hear some!

I would absolutely love to see pictures of the car! Why was the car parked in 1993?

The engine change because of internal seal failure resulting in coolant in the oil. Yes, it is a 4 speed, and my wife didn't know how to drive a stick when she bought it, so she learned on it and my 1970 Chevelle. Other projects and lack of time to fix it up. Paint is the original copper although faded, black interior.

Car was parked in '93 because of a new vehicle purchase, but she didn't want to sell it yet. Is that a list of all your cars? Nice!

Your car must be Sonic Bronze (paint code Y-5). Sounds like your first engine may still be salvageable. A new set of soft seals for sure. If the car still ran when parked, it might not need that much to at least get it running again.

That's understandable why the car was parked. It does sound like a nice car with a lot of potential! I'd like to speak woth you about the car some time if that's ok.

The cars listed in my signature are all of my current cars that I have room to list. The other cars that I own aren't fun cars per say. I have a 2012 Mazda 5 that I inherited when my mother passed away, a 2010 Subaru Outback that I use in the winter, and a 2023 Toyota Sienna that my wife drives and hauls our kids around in. Given the alloted room in the signature, I chose to list the fun cars that I own.
