I purchased my Rx-7 GSL new from the local dealer in the spring of 1983 and drove it for 10 years before I had to sell it because we required more seats (kids). About 2 years later I asked the guy who bought from me to give me first dibs. After a long 15 year wait he decided to sell and I finally had my original car back - almost 25 years to the month of when I bought it new.
Mechanically it is very sound, but it has been in the sun too long. The dash is cracked, seat material is split and the clear coat is mostly off the paint. It has never been winter driven so it is rust free and clean under the hood and under the car. Many of you have no idea what road salt does to cars in Canada (and northern US). I have just begun to work on restoring it. So far a brake job and cooling hoses. That hose from the oil cooler was fun!
I was on the hunt for parts when I came across this site. I was a member of the RX-7 Club of America for years and still have all the mags, etc. I also have the original sales documentation, shop manual, etc from when the car was new.
I'll search for answers on the site, as I expect my questions are the same as those that have already been answered. Rotary7

Awesome story. It's like the pizza guy from Papa Johns buying his camaro back after 30 years or whatever.

Welcome to the club, hope you bring your new old car back to how it was
