Hello all. First time posting, I am about to start looking through the forum - which is always dangerous. I have done a few builds on 60's musclecars, and I am just finishing up my latest project, a ground up build on a 73 bronco.
So that brings up the obvious question...what's next?
Well, my mother bought a 91 RX7 convertible new in 1990. In 2000 she bought something else but my father never wanted to part with the RX7. So in the garage it has sat, getting maintained and driven infrequently for these past 16 years. It's there, and it's cheap, and assuming I can get Dad on board, (which won't take much) this will become our next build.
I am a clean slate at this point, just considering the possibilities. I see the kits to put in V8's and LS motors, etc. What I have not seen yet, is if anyone has put the new LT4 (supercharged 650/650 from the Z06) into one of these. I am lucky enough to own a new Z06, so I know the engine's capabilities. Has anyone done it yet, and would it even fit??
I am thinking 1991 RX7 with a new crate LT4 and the Corvette 7spd manual gearbox. (yes yes, I know, its financially ridiculous...but let's set that aside for now).
