Hi,My name is Lei.I am from Minneapolis. I picked up a 1988 RX7, NA SE trim. I like the car a lot as I am a big fan of Initial D manga. The car is very stock and previous owners only modified the exhaust.
I used to own a 99 Audi A4 and a 87 BMW E30, so I did know basics about working on cars (man those old German cars need lots of work lol). This RX7 is very exciting for me as it has rotary engine.
I am still sorting out some problems of the car. Did basic maintenance items last week. The car still doesn't want to idle at 750rpm no matter how I adjust it. Probably a dirty throttle body. The other day the secondary injectors just failed to work on the highway. Was scary as hell as I suddenly cannot push past 1 quarter throttle, or the car just lose power and want to die. And guess what, after half an hour of cursing, it just returned to butter smooth driving. Maybe temporarily clogged secondary injectors. Sorting out.
In the long term I want to make it a low key weekend fun car. Maybe add more power, maybe some drifting goodies if I have money. Now I can pull tail slide drifts on dirt roads, lots of fun
Yeah cheers
