Hi all...I once owned a 1983 RX7 with a Targa package. I have very fond memories...of the times and that great little car. Life happened, now the kids are all teens and I'm looking to get back into a First Gen RX7. Back then, I had a pull-and-pay junkyard in the area that had an entire row of them, it was heaven. Now wondering about parts availability mostly. I look forward to learning more.

Welcome!! My best advice is to buy the cleanest example you can afford. Parts are out there but original Mazda parts are limited unfortunately.

Welcome to the forum!

I restored an 83 a few years ago. There are quite a few OEM parts that are hard to find new. But thankfully due to high production numbers there are lots of good used parts available via this forum. Also I found RockAuto, Racing Beat and Atkins Rotary good sources for parts. The Racing Beat exhausts are second to none and last a lifetime.

as mentioned above, buying the best example you can afford/find will save you lots of time and money in the long run. Especially regarding the engine and interior.

best of luck in your search👍
