New from Louisiana

Whats going on everyone, my name is Jacob and I just stumbled across this site and am planning on a LS1 swap very soon, just need to sell my RB25 S14 first.

Story of my car.
I was browsing craigslist when I came upon an ad for a 1987 RX7. Didnt think much of it other than maybe I could use it for parts for my girlfriend Jessicas 87. So I contact the owner and I go see the car. When I get there, im astonished at what I have stumbled upon.

What I have here is a near mint condition, 100% stock, hardtop RX7. When I say mint, i mean this paint is near flawless and the body has no dents, dings, or scratches. The car has been sitting, in a garage, for 2 years. Its last inspection sticker was 02/07 therefore it leaves me to believe it hasnt really been used for near 5 years.

The tires were flat and dry rotted so I brought some 280z wheels to get it home. The interior is pretty spotless. The seats have no wear or tear on them, the carpet is clean, the dash isnt cracked, and everything works for the most part. I couldnt believe it, this isnt a parts car, this is a ******* near classic all original beauty!

The lady that owned it was the original owner, yea, no ****. It even has the original sales receipt, window sticker, service maintenance schedule, owners manual, etc etc and all in like new condition! The lady said that the clutch plate was bad and the front left caliper was stuck. Ok, no big deal.

When I finally go to get the car, I had to put 4 new wheels on it, and I had to free up the caliper because its is rusted shut. It just wont retract after you give it a load. The clutch plate isnt broken, its just the slave cylinder which is very easy to change on this car, done it before. Found out the windshield wipers dont work, but theyre probably just rusted up. Other than that, theres nothing wrong with it.

Oh, and it fired right up within 2 seconds like a champ. No exhaust leaks, not funny noises, nothing, as if it came off the showroom floor.

So how did I get it home, stuck caliper, no slave, etc? Put that bitch in 1st, started it up in gear, free up the caliper and used the ebrake to stop. Rev match shifting ftw. Today I gave her a bath and cleaned her up a little, still have to clean the interior and wax it, but it cleaned up nicely and the paint looks amazing.

Oh, and the best part, it was only $500
:o

Hope to start a build thread soon. See yall around
