NJ New from jersey city

Hey guys, my name s Mark. I just got a 89 GTUs on the 31st. im pretty excited seeing as how I'm the only one in my town who daily drives one of these bad boys on top of only knowing of two other that actually pass by the local meet around here..
I'm new to the rotary motor but have a few friends that know a bit about them.

how i got my rx7.... well I pretty much found it after a sale gone bad. i was originally looking for a 240sx and found a bunch of fools that weren't worth anyones time. what set me of was this one idiot that had no idea what he was talking about and broke the car as i was at his house. not to mention a chunk of the frame was missing. so with high doubts of actually finding a rx7 BOOM i searched and got it, now I'm here!!

About my car... well it has some small rot on it, its got some damage on the fenders and front bumper, also on the drivers side door. The paint is pretty shot(not like i expected it to be great). it has no power steering. the driver side door only opens from the inside. The speedo doesn't work and not sure why but it sometimes revs up and down between 1500 and 1000( any ideas of what that's about?) the good is that the intereor is a 9 out of 10. theres only 60,xxx on the motor, it shifts perfect and everything works (even the factory alarm) lol!

I'm pretty much in love with the car. and glad to be here now! lets see what happens!

for more pictures just check my album. thanks guys!

its only natural you fall in love with your rx7. I think we all suffer from the same disease. Welcome and enjoy!

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to learning all I need. Glad there's such a healpful forum I'm probably gonna begin the welding on the frame next week then I'm going to undercoat everything. before the snow comes down.

It seems that people who are looking to get a 240 end up with an rx7 somehow. Strange.

After that last one I was completely done and gave up. I've always wanted a rx7 but everytime is mention it people would say "Ohh good luck with that". Come to realize its not as complicated or as difficult to deal with as people make it seem. I'm actually very satisfied with everything about the car and love how different it is. In the only person in my town that daily drives it and even in the not so good condition the fenders and front bumper are people still give me compliments on it its great!!

Nice I'm not so much worried about a turbo YET.. right now mine is just under going a bit of body work I found a front bumper all i need is some fenders and to cut and weld the rot on it then completely under coat the bottom. Then I'm gonna do suspension, Find a nice set of wheels and then paint it (not sure if I'm going to keep it red or paint it white) then probably do the breaks, then ill worry about the power
