New here buying 1990 rx NA have some concerns

Hello,

About my self; My name is Nick i'm licenensed mechanic at a ford dealership in ontario, Canada. I have always been curious about the Rotory engines. So I have access to alot of shop tools which will hopefully make my diag a little easier. I have been reading alot on RX7's trying to learn as much as I can.

I have a few questions about the car i'm looking to buy.

It's a 1990 RX7 convertible w/ 13B NA

The car is not running in tip top shape been in storage for few years. has 89,000 miles on it. So I went and took a closer look at the car. Under the hood looks like it rolled off the show room floor. I checked the vin and failed emission test 3 times in a row.

When you first start it cold it dosen't high idle it will stall unless you keep your foot on the gas. After it warms up to normal operating temprature it runs great. I revd it when warmed looking for alot of excess smoke but didn't see anything.

Seem to drive ok no problems temprature, oil pressure seems normal.

I since the vechical is not on the road I have no way of getting a compression test done on it. Should I be worried about APEX seals with a car with that low miles.

Could it be a TPS.. most stuff I read on TPS adjustment is because of bumpy idle.

So the $1,000,000 question is there a good chance that there is internal problems?. Should I keep looking?

Thanks in advacne,
Nick.S
