CA New Here

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and thought that I would introduce myself. Well, you're probably wondering what's up with the name. I also own a 75 Datsun 280Z which is why the name's MidnightZed. Since my car was in the shop, I was in a pinch and needed another car ASAP so I can get to and from work. Long story short ended up buying a 1987 Mazda RX-7 NA(Sport Edition) on Friday night/Saturday morning for $1,700. It has 188K Miles but supposedly the engine's been rebuilt. The person I bought it from works on RX-7 as he has a few of them (both FD and FC). He seems like a cool guy and trustworthy. He told me if I ever ran into any problems that I can call him up and either seek adviceand help if I needed it. Let me know what you think of the car. I bought the car bone stock with performance shocks. Like usual, I immediately removed the airbox and changed to a cone filter after I've smogged it. The car runs really well and it has a LSD . I was told that it's the sport edition but kinda unsure how to verify. Was wondering if you can tell me if in fact it is one? The only problem I've ran into is the hesisitation at 3.5K RPM. This only happens when the engine hasn't warmed up. Once warmed up it's great. idles around 750RPM and passed smog with ease. Overall I'm happy with the purcahse and glad that I finally picked up a FC. Well, nice to meet everyone. Here are some pics of the car

Well, just to give you guys an update on the RX7. Bought Intrax lowering springs. KYB rear struts (Old ones were bad, found out when the shop replaced my springs and said "Your shock fell apart on us when we unbolted it...It has to be replaced" also found out I had one of the best struts availbe for the 7..MONROE -_-). Replaced the airbox with a cone air filter (considering building a custom box for the air filter). Did the same to the smog pump. I will be replacing the front struts with Tokico sometime down the road or I'll just go full coilovers. Found out the my Headlight motors are bad...or at least I think they are lol. I'll see if I can find a camera and get some new pics of the car lowered...Currently looking for a White Right Fender at the JY and no luck so far. Still very happy with the car...Engine still runs smooth with no problems and suspension is now better. Since this engine is running so well, I'm trying to baby the whole car as my daily driver and trying to get some work done here and there.
