TX New guy from TX

Hi guys. I'm new to the forums and RX-7s as well. I'm in the Houston, TX area and I've been thinking about getting a RX-7 as my second car since right now my first vehicle is a 97 4cylinder auto Toyota Tacoma. The FD caught my attention a while back but now because of cost I've been looking at FCs lately and they've really began to appeal to me. At first I was thinking I would get an FC to get a feel for rotaries but I'm starting to think if I get a FC I might not feel the need to get a FD later. I'm currently in the process of saving up some cash for one while I also learn a bit more about RX-7s and look up some stuff on what to look for when buying one. I don't really know too much about working on cars in general so I plan to make this a learning experience. Look forward to meeting folks here on the forums and hopefully some locals who could give me a helping hand when I get my FC.

I live in Houston also. Well actually north east of Houston in a town called Crosby. I actually have the same plan as you as far as buying an FC but I have a full list of exactly what I will be doing when I get the car. Hit me up so we can collaborate

Houstonian here as well. It's funny how plans can change as different opportunities come up. I bought an '84 with plans to swap in a T2 motor, but now that I've bought one I'm really wanting to drop it into an FC chassis as it'll be quite a bit less "custom" work.

I'd love to own an FD, just can't afford the cost right now

FC is the way to go man. I love the FD body but the price is ridiculous.

Like I said, my plans are for a FC since their appeal has really started to grow on me and maybe later on if the opportunity presents itself get a FD. Nice to see theres people in the Houston area though. Was starting to wonder if there were any at all after I saw no other TX new member threads and personally don't see too many around here either. Might be since I'm actually off Houston in the Katy area though.
