Hey guys, my name is angel and I now own a 1980 rx7. I intend to keep her forever and hoping to put a 20b in the near future. She runs and drives perfectly until recently I've Been having a high idle problems and a little sputtering. Hopefully I can fix it soon. I also wanna learn how this beautiful engine work in detail lol

 

Hey Angel, welcome to the forum. I see you've gotten yourself a 1980 RX, I've gotten myself the same car just a few weeks ago and she's a real beauty. Check out my own intro for a few pictures. I can't help you with the high idle and sputter (mine is actually having a little bit of the same problem), but I can point you in the direction for knowing how these engines work. Toyo Kogyo a.k.a. Mazda, actually produced a 12 min. video in the 60's giving a bit of history and a very nice overview of how the Wankel engine works. The entire video is in two parts on Youtube.

Hey welcome I have a 83 rx7 my first car ever and Ive driven many cars but I know that won't go to pistons. And thank you for posting that video it helps so much to understand it. I won't seem like such a noon now...
