New guy from OKIEville lol

Hello Everyone. My name Is Quin, I've always loved the RX7 ever since I was 15 yrs old (28 now). However until recently they have always seem to be completely out of my reach.

Here in Oklahoma Ive only ever saw one drive past me but never for sale. So I settled for an AWD eclipse. Folks out here drive camaro's, Mustangs and (mostly hondas) and while I loved the awd eclipse - Its starting to feel like something a teenager with a spray on tan would drive.

When one has literally run out of things to modify on a ride Its time to sell it and start over. Why not do It right? So I said Eff It - I will only live once..Time to quit reading about Rx-7's, It's time for change and It's time to own IMO a real work of art.

Welcome aboard. I used to live in Elk City for about 10 years. LOL. I can attest to the v8 bug in Oklahoma.

Thanks will do. There's only one guy out here that's selling one (3rd Gen). He's asking a reasonable price But I'm about $1800.00 short. I'll probably Just Settle for a rolling shell. Maybe I'll come across one on these forums.

Oh I'm dead set on It now. The only thing that concerns me about them Is they're very compact. I'm 6'4 so I'm thinking I will need to modify the seats by removing back area and fabricating the brackets as I did with my eclipses. I'm just hoping there isn't any frame cutting/notching required behind the seat area

I live about 5 minutes from NW 39th expressway on 63rd. I go out there and to the car wash on council Every other saturday. You'll see me driving the candy orange widebody eclipse or the black GSX. I haven't seen any FD's yet but Ive seen quite a few 2nd gens and more Rx8's. But yea Just as you said - mostly honda's out there lol.

Thanks man, All my friends drive them. They almost convinced me to join them. I just cant bring myself to buying one. I don't particularly like the look of them except the classics.

Welcome and good luck with finding an rx-7!
I also used to own an Eclipse, but fell in love with my FD.

Appreciate It. The eclipse Is a fun car but having owning them - It's like being on a basketball team and every teammate refuses to assist or pass the ball - the community is too split apart.

You're welcome.
Do you have any special wishes for you FD?
By that I mean are you looking for a modified or stock one?

I'm Looking for a stock one or even just a rolling shell. I'd rather modify the car to my own liking. I'm a hands on learner I figure the best way for me to learn more about rotary is to start from scratch. I'm certainly not saying I'd turn down a good deal if I find one running - but I have two daily drivers so I don't have a problem building one.

For the mustangs Yes me too! For the camaro's I'd say a 1968 camaro. Those two styles are my weaknesses. The fox body is more in my price range but I cant pull away from the little imports..not yet.

Yup that's the very same guy I was referring to. I'm about $1800.00 short. I called him up and he wont budge on the price! Good looking out though!

Id like to come and see your car sometime though. My project car is located in alabama now, but I still have the original 84 GSL my profile is named after, and Im trying to get it running. Its in Joy, OK.

I am 6'4 as well. I sat in an FD and I do fit, i found I would just need a smaller steering wheel. Definitely not with a helmet although. I'd say look for a car with no sunroof to help out.
