LA New Guy from New Orleans

whats up guys! ive only been on for about 30 min and it seems like everyone is super nice and willing to help! props on the site too, really easy to navigate! so my names Phil and i live in New Orleans, LA! i have an ae86, that i plan on turning into a rotary monster! i just picked up my first Rotary like 2 weeks ago, came out of an 88' rx7! now this is the first time ive ever, in the history of my car experience messed with rotary engines. so in advance i would like to thank everyone for their patience and felp as i may have a huge amount of questions due to the fact no one around here messes with rotaries, or that doesnt know how to build them anyway! I look forward to sharing information and revieving help with you all, and again thanks in advance!

Whaaaa? No rotary presence in Nahlins? I can't believe it. I just know there's gotta be somebody. Head to the regional boards and see who's in your area. I know there's gotta be at least one guru out there.

Thanks for registering and welcome aboard, Phil. If you've got the gumption, you'll find everything you need to know right on RX-7 Club to do that work yourself, though.

I got a buddy with a 88 rx7 but he just drives it, doesn't really know anything about them! Lol so he's not really any help! But I'm gonna try and set the bar for a lot of the younger cats out there! Around here anyway! Hondas pretty much take the scene out here! Unfortunately!

Thanks for the insight and warm welcome!

There are some rotary guys in New Orleans

Contact Gorilla RE, as I believe he has a shop in Metarie. Trout2 is also from New Orleans. Check the regional forum for meets.

I used to live there (03-05) and left six weeks before Katrina...

good luck

Thanks Major (or didn't you get a promotion )!

Yes, there are quite a few rotor heads in the NOLA area but most the time we keep things "low key". Y'all are welcome to contact me for any questions you may have or feel free to stop by the shop!

Yeah bro just hit me up anytime!

Gorilla where is your shop located?

I am glad to see more people from Louisiana on here as well! Seems as though the import scene isn't as lame as I thought it was down here!
