MI New guy in MI

Hi! So first I have to apologize, I'm thinking my first introduction post got pulled because I forgot to attach a pic, had trouble editing it into the original post, and replied to my own thread to put the pic in the reply. I understand that's a big no-no here. Or maybe it was my crappy internet connection at work which has occasionally fired off a few extra posts on other forums. I'll stay off the forums while I'm at work now, I promise.

ANYWAY, my name is Dave, I'm from MI and I'm the proud owner of a 79 Rx7, and an 84 parts car.

About a year ago, my friend bought a low mile 84 GS that had been sitting in a field. We liked the car, got it cheap, and dragged it home. He discovered he could not fit in it comfortably and sold it to me. It sat until earlier this month when I tore the carpets out to patch the floors. What I found was structural damage, and considered fabricating new frame parts, not a cheap endeavor.

Last week I found a 79 that was gutted and partially restored on the Wisconsin Craig's, and on black friday, made the trip around the big lake to go get it. The 79 is gorgeous, no rust, new handling components, and brake lines. Came with a lot of new parts, and some reconditioned ones. The same day I bought a 79 manual trans online to save the hassle, disappointment and discontent of throwing the automatic out of my 84 in it.

Where I'm at so far, I'm test fitting some of the interior('79 black dash, 84 grey carpets with checkered seats and panels), I changed over to the 84 doors already because of a variety of issues with the 79 doors, I'm in the process of putting the bumpers and front clip from the GS on the 79, and about to lift the motor out of the 84 and rebuild it(plan is streetport, exhaust, carb, seal kit).

So far I REALLY appreciate this forum and the help I've found while lurking, and the help I've found in the New Member Tech Section. Here are a couple pics of my work-in-progress

You can probably tell from the pics, but the engine bay and undercarriage are super clean on this car and I can't wait to get into this project more! When I get rolling I'll probably post an ongoing build thread(assuming you have that section here - I'm on a handful of forums lately and can't remember).

Bit of a novel? I don't have anyone to talk rotary cars with. Now that I'm here, I might never shut up.

The no name thing... that was my bad. I had a good intro typed up, then my internet crapped out on me, then I retyped, then my phone crashed, so the third time around when I booted up my computer to type it out I missed that. Sorry. I might be off to a bad start here.
