Just wanted to say hi and also say thank you to everyone who has posted technical advice on these forums. This site has been very helpful to me. I own a 1990 GTU that has been off the road for a few years after being stolen and vandalized. Whoever stole the car damaged the radiator, among other smaller things, causing the engine to overheat. I haven't had the money for a rebuild so the car has been in the garage waiting to be brought back to life. A few weeks back I came across an '87 base model that had the all too common PD fire for sale and decided to pick it up for a few hundred dollars. The fire damage wasn't too bad and I am waiting for my new wire harness and oil injectors to arrive so I can put it back together. I hope to have it running in about a week or so and will most likely swap most of the compatible parts from the s5 over to this one. Can't wait to be behind the wheel of an FC again, I really miss it. Thanks again for all of the info so far and hopefully I can make some worthwhile contributions to the site myself.
