New to Forum, Old to Rx7's

Hey everyone!!

I wish they had these forums in the 90's. I had several Rx7's in the 90's and did a lot of mechanic work with my Puerto Rican Buddy that owned a Rx7 shop. Performed a lot of Rebuilds and ports.

I just got a 1988 N/A last night. I traded my daily drivers for it. Roadkill styled it home.. OMG. A 80 miles drive back home. Had one over heating problem in Perris, CA. Had to drill a screw into my fan clutch, It was toast. Stopped at Taco bell for 10min went to start it and it was flooding..Arggh forgot about that problem.. Hope I didn't warp anything in the 4 miles i drove to Autozone. Although I have seen and heard of worse when Fan Clutch dies and they still hold up.

Anyway. I need some help. I live in Escondido, CA looking for Rx7 friends and resources for parts.

So far this works on the car.

1. Starts good and has good power. Except when hot (oil smells like gas, leaky injectors)

2. Has Racing beat Exhaust, and headers.

3. Doesn't' have power windows, But most of all important electrical works. (cruise works!!)

4. Passenger door handle works.

5. Clutch works great.

6. Wheels roll (out of round)

7. Spider webs around engine work well.

So far I know I need the following.

1. Smog and Register !! Going to need some major help ASAP on this one.

2. Dash Bezel, and repair the printed circuit board for the fan control. ( would hate to have to butcher it and make my own)

3. Drivers side door handle needed.

4. Possibly the CV axles, or the U-Joint is bad. Harmonic vibration between 60-80

5. Put the right size tires on at some piont.

6. Change all fluids.

7. Check brakes and wheel bearings.

8. Tighten up the rear end (remove the Toe bushings)

9. Electric Fan or Fan Clutch. 12A fan Clutch will work on a 13B.

10. Water pump possibly.

11. Check some of the dash gauges don't work (Volts, Oil pressure)

12. At some point do a rattle can paint job, and tint the windows.
