New FD owner from Nebraska.

Hey All! Im happy to join your site!

I just picked up a 1994 Touring Red 5-Speed 95% Original Condition Car. I am the third owner of the car and it's in great shape!

I owned a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharger before this. So the FD is defiantly a step up from the Cobalt!

Well I took a bunch of pictures for you guys and I have a couple of ?'s maybe some of you will know off the top of your head. Ive got a couple little kinks to work out with the car but i'm excited to get into it!

Problems:
1. There is an Alpine Touch Screen deck installed- I forgot to write the model down. The previous owner states the deck is drawing a current from the battery. He was disconnecting the battery every night. He said the draw is so bad it will drain it in a night. I figure they wired it to a hot wire thats not on the ignition circuit. Any ideas on an easy fix before I tear into it?

2. Rear differential is rusty. Common?

3. Leaking oil above the front rotor top spark plug. Bad?

4. Spark Plugs- Both bottom rotors had NGK R- BUR7EQ L plugs in them. I ordered new ones. Are the top ones different with an R instead of L. Is that heat range correct for a stock motor. Tried searching but no avail.

5. Spitting a bit of antifreeze out. Looks like there are down disconeccted overflow tubes underneath the radiator. Will post a picture down below.

6. Water temp guage/throttle cable. Does it look like it needs reworked/replaced? Pictures below

7. It looks like there is an aftermarket downpipe installed. Was there a secondary cat installed before the primary?

8. There is a HKS pipe connected from the intercooler to the intake mainfold. Anyone know what part it is.

Previous owner said the car was 100% stock. Obviously it's not so im curious to figure out what's on the car before I keep or replace it.

I went through the whole car at my dad's mechanic shop. I changed the oil topped all the fluids off. It needs front and rear brakes, rotors are fine. Im going to change the tranny fluid and diff fluid in the spring. Any tips or pointers for storing a rotary other than what i've stated?

Ill post pictures of the car at the top, problems at the bottom.

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread!

Jason

Welcome to the forum Jason. Thanks for a great intro.

I was very close to getting a FC when my first choice was for a FD. Now I'm seeing all these FDs projects or not and want to get my hands dirty with a FD. lol

I'm Ron by the way.
