New FD Owner from MN

New FD Owner from MN-u1rtq2s.jpg
Just picked up my "new" FD.. I am the second owner. 1993 Touring, 55k miles. All the reliability mods have been done. Looking forward to fixing some minor problems (AC not working, radio not working, etc) and just driving the thing! .

I don't know much, if anything about this car, but it looks like there's plenty of technical information on this forum to keep me busy for a while. Other cars are a VVT/6spd swapped 1990 Miata & full STS prep 1990 Miata.

What are your intentions moving forward? To leave it stock? Are you gonna leave it stock? Hopefully you plan to leave it stock. Are your intentions to leave it stock? Great choice leaving it stock

Yeah.. that's my plan for the most part. PO did all the reliability mods but I don't like the suspension setup (too harsh), and the short shift kit (B&M) is awful IMO. OEM brake pads suck.. etc. Plan is to address all the little things and leave it OEM+.

I have a the Miatas for actual racing/going fast.. this is just a bucket list/fun street car.

Excellent. That's excellent to hear. Keep in mind there is A LOT of factory upgrade parts. The later models came with some pretty nice stuff. By later I mean 96+. The parts can be a little expensive sometimes but they are well worth it and definitely feed into your OEM+ mentality. Also, for the exhaust, there a couple options out there that are stock looking and are VERY VERY quiet. The racing beat is popular but it's very shiny and has the racing beat logo on the tips displayed prominently. If you can find a mazdaspeed or a Fujitsubo legalis r, I think you'll be happy with it. I would also recommend a power fc with the commander stashed in the glove box. It will allow for tuning that will give you (arguably) a better running car than stock. There are so many options for an OEM+ build it's insane. If you make a build thread then I'll follow. You'll love the car so long as you can contain yourself with the mods and keep it simple. Stock is best but stock+ is betterer
