Just joined the Forum after buying my FD in September. The car is in great condition for its age but needs the a/c system repaired (as it leaks refrigerant), and I think the Bose amps have failed.
Its nice to be back with a mazda after I sold my speed3. Sadly the car is now put away for winter but I'm looking forward to the spring when I can drive it again.
If you car is a "1993". The Canadian variant would have a VIN with "332" in it. The "2" designating it is a Canadian car.
You should also have a DRL module (Daytime Running Light).
Your a/c refrigerant should be the r12 variant, which is now not permitted. However, I understand "R12a " can be used. There are kits that include a "seal rejuvenant" and "stop leak" canisters.
These may help with your leak (or not).
All Canadian cars ran denso systems and later USDM cars were switched to Denso and well. Hoiwever, you need to make sure the fittings match up.
Thanks for the help mine does have 332 in the vin so it is definitely a canadian car with a denso system. Im hoping to dig into the ac system in the spring to find out exactly how its leaking
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new RX-7!! I have always had a soft spot for the Montego Blue FD's! I love how original and unmolested your car is. Does the car have tan interior? How does the car run and drive? Do you know any of the car's history?
Thank you, It is a full black interior car with the metal sunroof, it had a full service before sale and drives very well. The clutch engagement is quite high but I'm not sure if that is due to wear or where it normally is. I was told I am the third owner, the second owner had it for about 15-20 years but that's all the history I have on it
