New FC3S owner here
Hello,
I've always wanted an FC since I was a kid. My late father used to own one. The thing is it's pricey in my country (Thanks to the Initial-D-Tax). The price of running and roadworthy FC can be around USD15000 to USD20000 and much higher for the upgraded one. Just last month I managed to get this FC with some poor condition on it's body. It's an 88 (Zenki) Turbocharged FC. Rust are here and there and much worse in the rear hatch. The last owner painted it Yellow after he dislike the stock colour of it (K8 - Tornado Silver Metallic). I've decided then to take care this car slowly. My luck was that the compression test yield good results and the engine runs goods, only that some tuning of TPS are needed and it's vacuum hoses needs to be replace. I've uploaded some pictures of it. Most of the interior stuffs needs to be replace or find as some are missing or broken. The windshield are cracked long inside and outside. Probably I have to repair the crack if possible or get a new windscreen (which is rare, so might as well order it).
Most of the paint are oxidized already and there's long crack inside and outside of the windshield. Also the right headlight won't pop up.
Where does that switch came from?
The interiors are mostly in pity condition. Wipers won't function (but the spray mist works fine).
Frankly I don't know where does that spoiler came from. Also there's no center brake light. Is it normal on Zenki FC?
Engine bay are ok, the engine runs fine only with some rough idle and sputtering that needs to be fix. Did some compression test and the rotors and seals are still intact. Also I have to replace mostly or all of the vacuum lines soon as I suspect there's vacuum leak due to old brittle hose.
As you can see from the photo, the O2 connector broke off from and fell down to the downpipe hence burning it. I have to find where are the wire for it to reconnect and have to source a new connector.
Even the suspension control system are old and not functioning and maybe needs to be fix/replace or even delete.
I want to make my FC street driveable yet with good perfromance. This FC came with auto transmission (that I will convert to manual someday), but from the registration of the car my FC came to my country from Japan in manual. The first owner probably converted it auto. So my hopes joining this RX7 club community is to learn and gain experience from you guys.
