New FC owner from VA
Recently purchased an 89 GXL off craigslist. Towing her home tonight and then going to go about getting it to run. Previous owner said it was running when it was parked so i'm hoping I don't have much to chase out. Going to start with the fuel since the tank was rusting and they took it out to clean and re-seal it. Looking forward to meet some new people and get as much info as I can to help me along the way.

Right now i need a fuel sending unit and a fuel pump. The previous owner had the tank removed and re-sealed but it was never installed. I was out there trying to make heads or tails of everything and realized the sending unit was rusted out and the replacement was another vehicle type. Also the pump is no where to be found. I'm trying to decide if i want to find stock replacements or scrap the tank and put in a fuel cell with aftermarket pump.

Thanks. It's bone stock for now with the N/A rotary. It's an 89 with 96k on the clock and in need of clear coat. Overall plan is to see if the stock motor will run and if so I'll start working on just updating suspension and taking it to the local autox events and any track events I can. My overall goal is to go with an engine swap.
Currently I'm just cleaning it up from sitting since 2006 and trying to wrap my head around getting a fuel cell setup put together.

Welcome
Welcome to the forum. Nice to see more folks from the Virginia/Maryland area. Good luck getting her roadworthy. How was your Craigs list experience in buying a car? You were obviously successful, but any concerns going that route?

Leaning towards pistons but I'm really hoping to get it running and see what the wankel is like.
Thanks man. Honestly I love craigslist haha. I have searches set up for specific items I'm looking for and generally can weed through the crap. Also I shy away from having people come to my house and generally meet in public places.
Thanks man. I need to get my fuel system together before I can go anywhere but I was thinking I should try and do a compression test to see if the motor is any good or will even turn over.
