New FC Owner from Ohio!

Hello folks, recently couldn't pass up the chance to buy a 1987 GXL locally for $400. Its Just a rolling chassis, no motor or trans, but I was looking for a project and this was a good price. I'm currently doing some research on swaps but for now I'm just getting it cleaned up and tinkering around a bit.

From the little research I've done this seems like a great place for info and the fan base seems huge! Looking forward to learning more about these cars!

Here it is as it sits currently. I'm pretty happy with how clean the shell is for $400.

I'm located in Sugarcreek, Ohio, sort of central / northeastern.

Nice score on that! Was that car recently on Craigslist? I saw one identical to it with some stupid skull sticker in the engine bay.

Yes it was, listed in Mansfield! He actually had a 305 v8 in it and tried to sell it like that, but ended up pulling it and selling it as a shell. I actually already picked up an ls1/t56 this weekend, I'm just getting ready to start digging in!

If it was already converted to a V8 car and if stuff was welded then you may as well put a V8 back in it. I almost bought that car as a parts car but decided I didn't want to deal with selling the things that I wasn't going to use. Glad the car went to a good home!
