New FC owner in NWA!
I'd like to start by saying hi to everyone that reads this. My name is Kory, I had been searching on and off over the years for an RX-7, never finding one that I thought was worth the money until about 3 months ago.
I had taken my fiance's Mazda3 to the local Mazda dealership for an oil change and routine check up when I saw it. A faded red FC that looked like someone had traded in and it was forgot about. I immediately found a sales person and started asking about the car. The sale person told me that it had been sitting for close to a year. All 4 tires were flat, dead battery, pretty sizable dents in both fenders, a nasty dent in the drives side quarter panel, and some serious paint oxidation. Then I was informed it had a rebuilt engine and was owned by the daughter of a gentleman that owns a business called...Rotary Doctor... I insisted that the battery be charged and tire inflated so I could take it for a test drive.
15 agonizing minutes later, after almost a year of not being started, I climbed in the drivers seat. I turned the ignition and without a single hesitation the RPMs shot up to 3,000! Before that moment I had never gotten chills from just starting a car. I took a 30 minute test drive, and with every hill, turn, and down shift I felt in love with the beat up little FC. 3 months later I still get excited every morning when I go outside to start my now slightly less beat up, slightly brighter red GXL. I apologize for the long and informative intro but I am honored one my first rotary, and to join this obviously very helpful, involved and expansive online community.
