How did you get introduced to the RX-7?
My dads friend sister has had a white 1987 rx7 5spd parked in her driveway for two years after moving on to a new car i'm guessing leaving it just to sit on brand new tires. So my dads friend buys the car from his sister he does a general matinance(sp?) on it and drives it from oakland to sacramento. He then on the freeway notices that the trans is making noises like godzilla dry humping king kong no lube and goes over to my dads house where i first see the car. We think its the throw out bearing so we jack the car up pull the trans and find that the output shaft cover on the trans has no bolts loose as hell and all the tranny fluid is gone! How did that happen i have no idea. Any way we change the t/o bearing put some gasket sealer on the plate find some bolts for it and tighten it down. After getting everything back together we filled the tranny and took it for a drive. after 30mins of driving the noise didn't go all the way away but you cant really notice it unless your looking to hear it. So he comes back and says "i don't want it" i say " i do how much" he says "a little more than what i paid" i say "sold".
Now i own a white 87 rx7 5spd non turbo in good condition as my new daily driver while i swap in a 7mgte into my 240z. Yaaay me!
I know nothing about these cars but apex seals like to blow if rev sky high. and that's pretty much what i know from a friend.
I have been working on cars since i was 10 and i am 20 now and i have pretty much built 2 cars since then one being my brothers 65 mustang and my 73 240z so i know a thing or two about cars in general its the efi stuff that gets me. and this being a non piston motor i'm confused even more but this is a chance for me to learn so i'm taking it.
As of now i know no one that owns a rx7 in my area.
Hope that's a good intro any questions just ask. will have pics soon once i go pick it up from his shop. And you grammer people is almost 2am and i just got done doing a 9hr shift with a fist full of A**Holes...

Cant really say what i paid but it was a deal i couldn't pass up on. Reviewing the registration and doing a vin check its really a 88. I still havn't got it even though i put a few bills in face he is still looking for a car to drive around in because he thought i wasn't serious. I have to register it with a lost title because he cant find it which sucks but, i should have it in my name by thursday. Also im in oakland, i got to the pick n pulls in fremont and san jose all the time.
