Exclamation New FC from Australia

So hello guys, I'm Antonio from Adelaide in Australia.

After owning an N/A subaru for a few years, and after receiving my full licence I decided it was to upgrade. After much soul searching I decided I wanted something RWD and Turbo that would fit into my budget.

Silvias and Skylines are incredibly common where I live, and generally attract a boy racer image. I wanted something more unique, something that would get the right kind of attention.

After flipping through car sales pages I notcied the FC Rx7, I always thought they were great cars, but they hadnt even crossed my mind as I assumed they would be much more expensive then they actually were.

My interest piqued I did lots of research, and visited a local rotor workshop and decided an FC would be the perfect car for me.

Finally after 7 months of searching I found a great genuine series 5 example

Unfortunately just a few weeks later, the car was totalled. In my excitement in my purchase I'd overlooked that the front tires were almost bald. And upon taking it for a drive, the front end hit a puddle at the end of a sweeping corner and under-steered directly into a tree.

I was shattered about the car but my head required only 8 stitches, so I got off pretty lightly. Looking at the car, and the area in which the crash happened. I'm lucky to be alive.

But that brings me to the next part of my Journey. The couple weeks of ownership was amazing, regularly I would open the garage door, sneak a peek at my new beauty and giggle like a girl.

Not to mention the suburb feel of driving the car itself, it was truly magical.

Not having comprehensive insurance, my car was of course not covered.

And so there I was, left broke, and with a broken car.

But all is not lost, the car itself is still full of great parts, the engine should be fine, and the entire drive-line and interior is still in great condition. So I've decided that I'm going to purchase a FC shell and transfer my engine and other parts over, to reincarnate my baby.

I've singed up to the forum as I want to share my passion and build with like minded people, and being a rotor amateur. I hope to enlist you guys help throughout the process.

Thank you for reading my wall of text.
