New FB Owner! 1984 GSL
Hello! My name is Josh and my grandpa just gave me his 1984 RX-7 GSL! He was the original owner, put only 58k miles on it, then parked it in the garage for the past 18 years. The body is in GREAT shape, not a spec of rust! A bit of paint flaking off the front bumper, and mice got into the interior, but after some vacuuming it's cleaned up nicely.

This is before we washed her up, so she's still a bit dusty and dirty.
Right now she's parked in my friend's garage getting fixed up. The engine is carbon locked to hell, but I'm in the process of doing the MMO treatment to hopefully get her going again. We already flushed the coolant (which was surprisingly clean!) and changed the oil (also in pretty good shape), once we get the engine spinning freely we'll lift the rear end and flush the gas tank. I've got new transmission + diff oil on order, as well as new brake calipers+pads+rotors all around and rebuild kits for the brake master and clutch master+slave cylinders.
Because she's in such good shape, I don't plan on doing much in the way of modifications. I'll probably pick up the Racing Beat exhaust, because the original one is pretty beat up, as well as new struts and maybe springs all around.

Josh,
It's good to see another "low" mileage FB get passed down to someone who appreciates it! I'm in the same boat but I'm an old man just like Pops now! I'm thinking that by the time "Boompah" is ready to pass on the 1985 GSL RX-7 he's had since new, my own boy will be old enough to simply get it outright....at least that's the hope.
Thanks for taking the time to register and welcome aboard to RX-7 Club! The more 1stgen folk who join, the better, sez I!
