New from England!

Hello everyone, I'm here to learn more about rotaries and RX7s. I don't have a car right now, but I'd love to get an RX7 one day. I'm currently looking at an "abandoned" FD3S RX7, but I'm skeptical due to my lack of car experience and the cost of attempting to repair the car. Here's the link to the Reddit post if you would like more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/RX7/comment...abandoned_rx7/. I will still attach a few pictures. Also if anyone is able to decode chassis numbers I would love to send you the one for this one, I am still uncertain which year it is but from digging around I believe it is November '91, I could be wrong.
G7 Panasport wheels (C5C I believe)

Looks pretty stripped inside tbh. And probably isn’t all that clean on the outside. You might be able to pick it up cheap ish (by that I mean sub £5k). November 91 would make it one of the very first cars. I’m assuming the VIN starts FD3S1000XX

unless you have unlimited funds and a tremendous amount of storage/work space, leave that car right where it is. its sad but what it would take to make that a full car again will not only be more than outright buying a complete car, the amount of time and effort would be grossly disproportionate to the end result. you will still be left with a car that can very easily be bought in a running condition. if time, money and space are all on your side then go for it and live your best life. if any one of those 3 is NOT in your control, save your money and buy an fd when your time comes

Welcome to the forum!! As other have stated, this would he a massive and expensive project. In my opinion, it would be a lot of fun to restore the car. You will learn everything about that particular car and it will be near new inside and out once you're finished. It would be a car you would cherish and you would learn so about about. The downside is that it will undoubtedly be expensive, so if you have a thick wallet and a lot of time, I say definitely go for it and buy the car!
