CO New to cars and the RX-7

Hey what's going on? Finally decided to get back on this forum with a vengeance and start posting.

I've owned my 86 rx-7 for a few years now, but was only about to drive it for a year before I blew the engine and shipped out to Iraq as an infantryman. 3 years and two deployments later I'm ready to get to work on my beauty and see what she can do.

Never been much of a car guy but I love driving the canyons. I'm actually a game programmer, shocked aren't you?! Got a bunch of friends who are into the scene and I've always admired imports, but never did my homework. Time to learn as much as I can about the rotary and basic car mechanics as I can.

So a little about me:
22 originally from Los Angeles, but stationed in Colorado Springs. Married for 1 year (as of today.. I should probably be writing her instead of here!), with a beautiful 4 mo old daughter. I'm a 360 and PC game programmer in my spare time and a US Army infantryman.

I attend car shows and events with my buddies from Analog Assassins as well as do charity work with them.

I like beer.

Hope to see you all around!

welcome rotor bro, the rotary engine is superior to the piston engine due to its small light/compact design and its high revving nature. Love your rotary and it will love you back!
So what games have you helped program for the 360?

@mar3: thanks man. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum and finally knowing how to restore my baby. I'll post a picture of what it looked like as soon as I can.

@Rotary_Redline: I've done some research on the engine, it's a true beast. Even the triangular design gets my rocks off... But maybe that's because i think of the Triforce too, haha! And as for the 360, I'm an indie developer, finishing up my BA (it takes forever in the Army), but I have 2 games in development right now. Should be up on Xbox Live by the end of the year.

My bumper fell off on the freeway! Thank goodness my mother was on the same freeway 20 minutes later and found it. Didn't eventell her!

There it is lying between my 911 and my old FC which I sold eventually. Put too much money into it to make it run, and it never did.

Before I blew my engine and had my rear window shattered in:

Nice option bumper sticker Did it survive the fall? How the hell did your rear window shatter?Put a 20B 3 rotor motor from the Eunos Cosmo from japan, then you'll really have the PoWeR! of the Triforce. Sweet Porsche 911! Boxer motors are among my favorite motors. Dude your on the right track of automotive awesomeness. You must post pics of the Porsche! What kind of game your developing. By any chance do you have forza 3?

I used to be a video games programmer, professionally, when I owned my last FD. It didn't pay enough though as I was living in the UK and spending the equivalent of around $700 a month just on GAS for the car. I had to branch out to more lucrative programming work!

@Rotary_Redline: someone thought it'd be fun to throw a window through it outside my house. I was right inside but wasn't able to see the vehicle well enough. I haven't picked up Forza 3, but I do play 2!

@SDelong2: programmers FTW!

Uh oh! Another RX-7?!

Should be picking up a new one tonight! 1990, pretty high mileage but nothing a rebuild can't fix!
