New to car ownership and RX-7s

First off hello my name is Steven and i'm 16, 17 in january. Last week i bought my first car, a white 1990 Rx-7 GXL for 1,804$. ( No turbo in this model right?)

I have been browsing the forums for some time and have been trying to pick up some basic lingo "vert" had me confused FOREVER. Now onto my story...

I have been car shopping for a few months and I settled on i absolutely loved, a 1993 nissan 240sx. So I began saving slowly VERY slowly for a 16 year old car lover.

After a few months of saving every penny, much to the dismay of my friends I realized that I would never get to the amount I needed for a 240sx. So I gave up, kinda lame I know.

So I had about 2,000 saved up and decided to check out the first used car lot my dad and I happened across. Turns out luck wasn't on my side. See i knew what I wanted, a little 2 door sports car and that narrowed things down alot especially at used dealers. Eventually after a fair bit of searching I saw it a white 1990 RX-7. The dealer gives me the keys and a quick lesson on starting a manual car and how NOT to flood the engine.

I turned the key and I knew the second it cranked over it was mine the dual exhaust sold me with its perfect sound. We signed the contract got a 3-day permit and I drove home. After a few harrowing stalls in the middle of an intersection with people yelling, honking and flipping me the bird I managed my way home.

Suprisingly I stumbled upon the clutch catch point at least thats what my dad said.Once I found the sweet spot manual shifting came to me very fast. and we had a good cruise around the nieghborhood.

The car did some with some problems, like a leak in the sunroof and a rear windshield wiper that didnt work. It appears the driver before me wanted to race it as he took out the carpet but I could be very wrong.

Anyways thats my story and if anyone has had to replace the carpet could you refer me to an online dealer or store in canada? thanks

Steven

Hey steven welcome aboard. I had to replace the carpet in my chrysler a while back my suggestion is just to check your local fabric store. I got a roll of grey automotive fabric for pretty cheap from a Jo-Ann fabrics and just cut it myself. Not to bad of a project. Good luck
