MA New 86' FC Owner - Massachusetts

Hi Everyone,

After leaving the S2000 scene, I recently picked up a 1986 FC, GXL, completely bone stock. I am the 2nd owner at 100k miles.

Not much of a story behind the car. It was stored in an older gent's (pretty wealthy guy) garage since 2008, and hasn't been started since then. He said it needs apex seals, and other small fixes, and it would be back on the road. As soon as the apex seals went bad, he stopped driving it and just stored it. He got more into motorcycles and just spending time with his wife, so he never felt the need to get the car to get repaired.

I was a little skeptical about purchasing a car that didn't start, but as soon as the owner showed me all the service records he's collected overtime, I was convinced that he took good care of it. Also the fact that it was completely stock amazed me, as I often find these cars to be trash from horrible modifications, IE stance, hella flush, ebay turbos etc... It's going to be a project getting it back up and running, but that's ok. Perfect opportunity to learn the bells and whistles of this car.

Body, and interior are in fantastic shape. I don't plan on doing much, other than getting it back up and running, fresh coat of paint, and some nice wheels.

Some pics:

Original Owner saying good bye.

Towed to my house.

Stuck here, car doesn't start and brake fluid evaporated.

Another view.

Engine bay, tried to give it some power to roll down the windows as the interior has a very musty odor from being stored.

Clean interior.

First time having having a radio with an equalizer.

Look forward to meeting lots of new people here.

Alex
