New '85 RX7 Project car

Just purchased my first RX7 project car, looks like I saved her from a poorly executed DIY mechanic. Lots of parts removed and sitting around.

Can't wait to get it started!

Welcome!! Would love to see some pictures of the car! What all does the car need and what are you plans for it?

I picked mine up at an auto auction for $2700, seems to be on good shape but was the victim on some very poor DIY work that appears to have resulted in the carburetor being taken off and every hose imaginable disconnected.

It has a few rust spots In the door and rear quarter panel, ultimately my goal is to return it to original condition, the way it was intended!

I always find that interesting, taking a car like this and just restoring it to factory condition. What's the draw? Why not try to make it better? Not judging, just curious, I don't see that draw personally but everybody's different.
