My Story
Well, I finally own my dream car. She's a little rough, and needs some TLC, but she's mine.
Wednesday, after going back and forth with the seller via email for some weeks, I drove 4 hours out to the Yosemite valley, took her for a spin, and made an offer. $1800 later, I was driving my new baby back home.
I fell in love with the RX-7 back in 1985, and finally have one all to myself. It's an '84 GSL-SE with a 13B in it (it HAD to be a 1st gen, I'm not overly fond of the rear-end on the 2nd gen and newer).
The mechanics of the car are surprisingly solid, but the interior looks like a bomb went off (the cosmetic stuff is easy to deal with tho'). New carpet, new headliner, door panels and trim, and we're done, right?
The exterior is in pretty good condition overall, but once I've finished going bumper-to-bumper on the vehicle, she'll be getting some new fiberglass and a spoiler, then off to the body/paint shop.
Anyhow -- I'm here because there were a bunch of Rotary Rocket and RX-7 Report magazines in the vehicle when I got it, and I figured I'd check to see if the club still exists (and whaddya know!). I'm hoping to be able to leverage the decades of experience and ultimately, hope to be able to contribute back leveraging my experience. For the moment, however, I'm gonna just read, read, read.
And when I'm done with that, I'll read a little more. ;-)

We've been backed up a little on New Member processing, so I want to apologize for the delay, my 1stgen brother!
Great find on the GSL-SE! We've been having a lot of new members come aboard who are finding these cars! It sometimes seems like they're more plentiful than the GS or GSL models.
Welcome aboard, Steve! The more 1stgen folk who join, the better, I always sez!
