My sons first project car, and the first rotary engine vehicle we've owned.

As the title states, my 18 year old son bought his first project car, 85 RX7 rolling chassis. He definitely wants to stick with a rotary build, but I have no clue of these motors. We own several cars (58 VW beetle, 89 Nissan 240SX, and his daily 99 Toyota Tacoma). My boys and I are excited about this build for many reasons. First rotary, first Mazda and hopefully the first of many adventures in this family build. I will add pictures of the process and hope to meet members and ask for advice along the way. Thanks for the add, we look forward to the challenge.

nice find. wheels suggest non SE 12a car. either way it's a good candidate to be put back to driving again.

If the car is originally an SE the vin will start with JM1FB332... If the car was a 12A car, the vin will start with JM1FB331.

The car was definitely a GSL-SE originally. On the passenger side of the engine bay there is a vin plate on the firewall. It lists the color code. If you are correct with the above picture, the color code will be V3 for Tender Blue Metallic.
