OK My new old RX-7. Jon from OKC.

Hi there, I'm Jon, but I really do go by Flicka(long story). So i just got my first RX-7 today, an 85 FB Series 3. I traded a guy my 87 300zx Turbo straight across for it. I'm really happy with it and am enjoying the hell out of driving it. I read a bunch of info on here before finally agreeing to the trade. I had done a lot of work my my Z and wanted to make sure the RX was something I wouldn't get in over my head with. I'm an Infiniti mechanic, so rotaries are new to me, but I can't wait to learn. It's got 147k miles and doesn't seem to have any of the tail tell bad signs(least from what I've read). It cleaned up really nice and I'm glad I went for the trade. Anyway here are some pics.

My Z, I miss it, but I'll get over it. I feel like I came out on top.

Quick update, drove the seven 490 miles round trip last weekend to go to the Block Party in Dallas. Made the entire trip with zero problems. I'm really loving this car.

You won that trade, and your seven is clean as hell. Dallas? Arlington here.

I live in Oklahoma, I was down in Dallas to go to Medieval Times with some friends. Before I went tho I met up with a bunch of guys from around there and went to the Block Party. Was fun to show up in a line of sevens. Thanks for the compliments, this thing keeps impressing me. I ran out of gas the other day and got it running again. I was broke until I got paid so I let it sit for 3 days and drove a friends car until I could put gas in it. When I went to start it up, it fired right up and idled perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better Rx.

Nice!!! You defiantly got the better end of the deal. I myself just recently acquired a '85 I live in Wellston and I am only 14 but I am a major gearhead already. I'm working on taking out my smog control currently. But dang I gotta tell you bro that is one clean 7.

Thanks guys, the Z looks clean there cause I know how to take good pics of it . It's was in worse shape paint/body wise then the RX. The Z also had way more mechanical problems of you can believe that. Had the rex for 2 weeks and it's been amazing. Haven't had a single hiccup yet. Got 22mpg last tank, so that does take some getting used to. I could get 30 in the z if i babied it, but the car is definitely worth it.
