I like my my Mazdas.They make me smile.. Gotta love em!.
1981 was the year a maroon series 2 Rx7 changed my life forever, it was the noise;-)
I was 6 years old.
Dec 2011 I sold my most treasured of all RX's.. The pig.. 81, s2, 12a, std carby, unknown origin 2nd hand engine, occasional factory lsd, no carpet, no interior, no air con, ebay cheapy seats, extractors, 2nd hand GMH v8 muffler (VQ 91ish statesman), h/d clutch, few days rego..
Bought her for parts in 2006.. smoked many an rx8
She never failed to get me where I needed to go, never failed to make me remember why I loved my cars, life, rotors , life..
Now, see pics.. I been looking to find something bigger as my Dogs are 15yo and only things to come befor my Mazda's.
An 83 HB cosmo with a 12a 6port will finally fill the gap but a FB is what I need, I've not, not had atleast 1 FB since my 1st in 1993 (they were expensive then so R100's,Rx2's,Rx4's surfficed for few years prior)..
I've found HB's OOOH.. not good.. lol
The forgotten RX's.. but 7's are here..
I found a 1 owner s4 n/a Rx7, a little special being the Melbourne motor show car and full factory service history coming along with the deal (Not to mention the amazing care that had been lavished on the car since new).. 1 of only 50 Aus delivered convertibles, I feel like I am a custodian of a piece of Mazda's history. Not modifying her is a hard pill to swallow!!
I also own a 88 s4 turbo an a 87 JDM import Savanna GT-X, a tad under 1300hp between the 2 of em, they are absolute nightmares..
FC's are breaking thru.. To own FC's is like owning an early 80's Maserati, Commitment..
I wouldn't change it for the world..
The HB thing???? Well what can I say, Mazda gave the world a GT version of the RX7..
They can never be an RX7, but damn, I have HB's outside that are loving their FC DNA mod's.
