My first rx7

Hi my name is jeff and I want to introduce myself an my rx7. I recently traded my 240sx that’s was running (not great) for this clean 1987 fc rx7. The reason I traded is because of course rotary motors are unique an tbh 240sx’s are kinda boring. I want to learn and immerse myself into this car. As the car sits it was in a very minor fire previous owner replaced all that was burned from what I see but currently the car doesn’t have spark also the compression is on the lower side. Rear rotor 75 and front rotor 65 so most likely needs a rebuild other than that car is really clean in my opinion an I let my wife name the car an she named it an she calls it future because it looks like a spaceship. When I’m near a car my daughter wants to be right there great feeling.

Welcome!!! Looks like a very clean and unmolested example!! How many miles are on the car? Was compression tested with a rotary compression tester? No leading ignition can mean a faulty ignitor on the leading coil set. Easy enough to replace the set.

thanks man! And there’s 171000 miles on it and sadly the test was done with a regular compression tester. An I just purchased some used coils for 90$
