My first FD (Saving the best for last)
Hi all,
I've been in and out of the forum for years now after having owned 3 FC's and 1 RX8.
I've finally picked up my first FD. She's bone stock and only has 26K miles. This is the first FD I've ever driven that is stock and I love it.
I guess I'm getting old as I'm not too crazy about loud exhaust systems. This way I can heard the beautiful sound of the engine.
I don't have too much planned. I'm going to start off by changing all the brake pads to Hawk HPS as I will never put it on the track, clean up/paint the hubs(silver) and probably paint the calipers wine red to match the interior. SS brake lines may follow as I just don't trust 20 year old brake lines.
I'm only looking into reliability mods right now so I may change the downpipe. Not sure yet. . . The underhood temp is pretty scary compared to my old TII.
Aside from the brakes, I'm going to change the rest of the fluids and keep her clean. Oh and figure out how to get the Bose system working again (All speakers are dead!).
I'll keep a log of everything I do and try to share it with the forum.
Bye for now,
Neil

26,000 miles? Awesome! Mine has 233,000 miles and is currently getting a rebuild and a mild street port. Reputable shop. The one thing you will notice is the price difference with FC vs FD. FD's are way more expensive to work on, fix, etc. I'm always on the prowl for new and used stuff. Anyway, congrats on the purchase of the FD. Awesome cars!

I am sure there are some FDs and FCs out there that have high mileage and the engine has gone to crap, but the body and other systems are still in great shape.
