My first car is an Rx-7

I'm 16, I live in AB and I got a 1985 Rx-7 GSL-SE for my first car. No one in my direct family has had a rotary before, but my uncle had an r100 or whatever the first ones are called. So I don't know to much about Rx-7s so anything about them would be great.

You've got a somewhat rare, first generation fuel injected RX-7. Your uncle's R100 was in fact a rotary, but had a carburetor. Be sure to read as much as you can about any sort of common issues with first generation RX-7s in our First Generation forum section, as well as surfing the internet for knowledge.

Wow, talk about getting it right the first time! I just bought an 85 GSL SE, but I've had many many cars in the past. This is my first car for fun/hobby. And since I don't know what your family situation is, let me play the role of father, look sternly at you and say, "Don't break any laws and DRIVE CAREFULLY".

Welcome to the club. I just got my first RX7 at 44 years young. Driving this baby makes me feel 16 again. What a thrill.

Not to be rude, but are you sure your avatar is a 1993 RX-7? It looks more like a second generation, which (to my knowledge) wasn't made anywhere in the world in 1993.

hi
back when i was buying my first car my dad didn't let me get a sports car with a manual gearbox
he was saying i must learn to drive on an automatic commuter first
make a steady progress getting good at driving.
don't rush into risky situations if you are not comfortable

i'm 17, and the '90 gxl na i've got is my 5th car. Actually, my first car was a '93 miata, so.. maybe you'll find something that sticks quicker than i did. have fun, but not too much, because your wallet will murder you and violate you in unforgettable ways
