Member from down Under!

Hey everyone!

My name is Dennis. I'm from Australia and through I would introduce myself! I have been a member of this forum for many years, gaining all my knowledge for rotaries far before I purchased mine. 80% of my knowledge came from this forum! The rest came from experience!!! - I purchased my FD back in mid 2006. Found a very clean example and fell in love with it.

This is when I bought her home.

Was fairly stock, had Enkeis Rp01's, and catback.

I enjoyed it the way it was for a while, but then the modding bug began! I started with all the maintainence mods, replace bushes, full services, all oils, replaced clutch, PPF, all vac lines and check valves - it was a very nice running FD.

Then I started to mod it more seriously. Started with some Racinghart CR's in gold, followed by majority of the car resprayed, suspension, PFC, intake and tune running 14psi.

Here's a photos after modding:

It was a head turner, and great car to enjoy! It did have its hickups as they all do! But loved it to bits.

THEN! On march 8th 2009 my FD was involved in a horrific accident! Due to stupid drivers, it was terrible. Damage: Bumper, left rail, boths gaurds, bonnet, windscreen, chassis pushes back (dents in roof) damage wheel and twisted the tunnel (transmission area). it broke my heart to see my FD is this state.

I was too much of n ethusist to let it go... so myself and few friends in the FD scene decided to take on a massive project and bring it back life.

It was off to the panel beater who done a fantastic job on the car. Once we got it back, we tore it apart to a bare shell, engine out - plans as follows

Custom paint - colour unknown
C-west kit
RE head lights, mirrors and bonnet
2002 series lights
custom exhaus
Front mount
non-seq
PFC
15psi tune
20" vault rock wheels (however changing these or pwder coating black)
Custom interior
The lists continues but can't remember off the top of my head.

The colour of the car changed alot! Until I was happy with the colour. IN which, it is now Hawiian blue with a purple tinge to it. Wears the complete C-west bodykit and full custom exhaust. Custom interior with white retrimed areas, engine running 6psi at the moment (vid provided below), FMIC intake etc - the whole car was re-wired and fitting with alot of new parts from Mazda.

The project took about 1.5 years and is still not quite finished. Alot of time, blood sweat and tears were spent! Including money of course over the period with a few more things to do.

Here are some photos of what it looks like today!

Here is a quick vid - 6psi non seq - just making sure everything runs good - will tune for more psi shortly.

This is mostly not to the liking of many! Lol

Thanks for the good read! It's awesome you brought your car back to life instead of just tossing it away, paint looks very nice!

Oh and your driving on the wrong side of the road! :P
