IN Master of the Technical Stuff

Hi, my name is Ed and I am from the midwest, longtime lurker first time poster.

I bought my 84 GSL-SE new and became an instant fan, I just flat out love these cars. I garaged the car in 94 due to the usual complications that arise when starting a family. Last year I cleaned her up and started working on getting her running again. That was when I found this site and have been an avid reader ever since. The technical info is outstanding and some of your posters are truly wizards and I thank them for sharing their expertise with the rest of us common mortals.

I have had her running and she pulls strong throughout the RPM range, but ran into an intermittent problem where it's just not getting enough fuel. After jumping the pump relay and turning it on without the engine running, I could hear the bearings grinding, think I found my problem, just waiting to save up the cash for a new pump. I hope to have her on the road again this summer. Except for the cat and pre-cat, she is all stock and I am going to keep her that way

I will always have a soft spot for the SE's, they were the best of the Gen 1's and absolutely CLASSIC style. I like the FC's for the mechanical improvements they made, not real keen on the Porsche styling, should have left that to the Germans. But then there is the FD, OMG what a car. The sexiest purest sports car ever made. Take my SE and double the horsepower, holy ****. Someday I am going to get me one of those, then sell it 6 months later after I lose my license :-).

I just can't drive 55

Ed
