Hi everyone, I've been lurking for some time, I keep reading your awesome build threads, really enjoying my time here. Have an rx8 for 17 years now. Lifetime dream is of course an FD, growing up though I've come to appreciate all Mazda rotaries.
Keep up the beautiful work!
Andreas
Yeah, why not. I'm located in Greece.
Rx8 2005 model 4port 5spd mt 192hp(lol), bought it new. Around 55k miles original motor. A lot of the known rotary tricks and peripheral tuning, some quality parts from 2006. Went from daily to weekend to monthly to daily again in the pandemic, weekend car now. Few known rx8 issues, lucky to have a rotary tuner as a very good friend, saved me a lot of times. It's a little rough but I'm taking care of it. It's a very enjoyable slow fast little car and watching it outlast several products from the era is satisfying. Some pics with new 17" rpf1s, they help a lot with the .... modest horsepower. Few more things to do, and I may do some bumper sideskirt combo and stop messing with it but you know how it is. Thanks for the welcome!
The car looks great! Glad to hear that its still running and driving well. Definitely low mileage! The RX-8 lasted if they were properly maintained. I own four of them and I've really enjoyed having them!
You will regret getting rid of the Rx-8 if you get the FD. I certainly do! I do not miss it bad enough to sell everything and buy another, but I think about it more than my first car (a v8 mustang). And everyone says there is nothing like your first car.
The plan was to keep the 8 and find an FD to mess around. The fantasy is a garage with an FD, an FC and this! And an FB!
Now if the lottery gods could do me a favour...
I'd love to have an FB to take care now that I'm older and can appreciate a classic. But they're making it too hard in EU to own an older car. And it's not getting better with all that bev/ green transition craze.
Love what you guys are doing with your fb and fc builds. Seen some jaw dropping stuff. It's inspiring.
