Hello everyone!

Well, I've been reading this forum for years, but finally decided to become a member.

Here's a little info about my rotary background....

When I was a kid, my dad had a couple of Rx-2's. (72's i think?) He was one of the few "rotary guys" in the north Florida area back in the mid 70's that was into performance, bridge ports, and that sort of thing. When I grew up, I guess I caught the rotary bug as well!

About 15 years ago i bought my first RX7 (79 SE) for $150. The thing had the original 12A, 220,000 miles on the ticker, never been rebuilt, and ran like a champ! Within a few weeks I tossed in a bridgeported 13b with a pair of webber 2-barrels. That car yielded many fun times at the local 1/8 mile strip before the track closed down. With nowhere to race, I sold it to a guy that was going to use it for mud-bogging (I swear I'm not making this up!)

The whole time that I raced the 79, I had been looking for a GSLSE to use as a daily driver. It took over a year, but I finally found a decent 85 GSLSE for $2900. I drove it for a few years and kept it pretty much stock condition. At a point I had 3 vehicles registered and insured, and to cut costs so I threw a tarp over the GSLSE and let it sit. Years went by, and eventually the rust and decay got the best of it. Finally this summer I pushed it into the garage and gutted the thing completely to start a rebuild/hotrod project.

While messing with the GSLSE and browsing the internet for parts, I came across a good deal on a 89 with a 91 T2 engine swap. Somebody had put considerable money and time into the car, but it still needed some TLC. I picked it up for $5000 and am working on a few things to make it a reliable daily driver. (I should have pics soon!)

Anyways, Before long I should have a pretty strong 89 T2 up and running, and will be going back to the GSLSE project. If I had deep pockets, I would definately do a 20B transplant. But, im debating now if I should do a Holley N/A on the 6-port engine, or do a T2 swap. I'll put some more thought into that once I get that 89 finished.

I look forward to swapping pics and stories with all of you, and will probably have a few technical questions along the way.
