Long time lurker, new to RX7's
Hello everyone, I've been on this forum for a long time, but now I'm finally starting to get serious about owning an rx7, mainly the FD. Would $20,000 be a good starting point for one in good condition?
I know the common issues regarding the stock twin turbo system and potential overheating problems with them, but since I already have a reliable daily, that shouldn't be a big deal for me if it needs some work.

Welcome!
The market is in an interesting place right now. I'd say if you're able to find an example listed somewhere other than one of the mainstream sale platforms, 20k could find you something in fine mechanical condition but needs some other tlc or maybe the other way around. Doubly so if you're good with a RHD car.
Definitely a huge plus you have a separate daily driver. Makes owning this platform a completely different experience.

Welcome! 20k is a good starting budget for an FD. You should be able to find a decent example for that or less.
The TII can be had for much less and is still a very fun car. Seems easier to find a clean FD than a clean TII sometimes. You'll have to drive both and see which one you prefer. Once you decide on which car you want, look for the nicest example you can afford.
