Long time lurker From Nevada.!
Hi Guys.My name is Byron!
I have been reading on here awhile. Boy,there is a lot of good info for potential buyers!
So,anyhow I am finally ready to take the step and Decided to get an Rx7.It's real Hard to find a decent RX7 in Reno, NV but hopefully I have found the one I want, and will be going to get it tomorrow, assuming it's a not a bucket.
I'll put photos up if all goes well!!
Thanks for the great FAQ's!

Eww definitely not that car was ugly with lambo doors and such. Here is the only photo as of yet from the way home. Barely made it over the pass last night picked it up in the bay area. It's covered in snow and slush didn't get a chance to wash it off yet I know bad start to owning it
It's a 94 with 151k but I got it for a steal I think lol? Only 7,000 I assumed the motor would be blown but made it back ok. Time to ditch the painted oem wheels and get it back into good shape first.

And on that note are there a lot of local owners I only know a few. Do you happen to go on any local car forums like nolimitimports or anything?

I am familiar with that forum. I'm not a nember, it is not really my kind of place if that makes sense. I recognized your name as one I've seen on there. I don't recall seeing that red FD anywhere. $7000 seems like you did well, if you need help or anything let me know. I know about 4 FD owners in town that I have personally met. Any mods to the car? Details?

Yea I have been on there since I was younger like 17 or 18 and have kind of "grown" out of that crowd. I'm still pretty young but also get what you mean. It's basically stock with stuff like a nicer radiator, bigger side mount, got rid of pre cat, and an exhaust that looks ugly. I guess has tein mono flex coilovers too but I have been so behind at work I haven't got to dig into it much. I actually tried driving it to work today at about 6:30am and it did not want to start. It's parked in a well insulated garage but still pretty cold out there, are they tough to start in cold weather I didn't really have time to tinker and mess with it but it started right up idled for like 2-3 seconds sputtered and slowly stalled. Not a lot of info but any ideas or thoughts

I cant attest to the cold weather problem, I havent had any issues with starting mine. I've had mine for about 1.5 years now I bought mine from a shop in Califonia that had just done a full rebuild on it. The only starting problem I've had is when it got flooded with gas. I broke my diff last month and am hoping to get it swapped out this month so I have driven in this colder weather we have been having, my car is also in my insulated garage so it doesnt get cold there either. When my car was flooded it would sputter and die quickly read up on that your gonna want to know about it anyway.
This forum is great lots of great people and info. This forum is one of the reasons I got the car. The forum is full or knowledgable people who track race, and design parts for their cars. Definently read the reliablity upgrades first and go from there. Here is my build thread I guess you could call it.

Also if you don't have it find Malloy Mazdas phone number Ray Crowe can get you OEM fd parts at great prices plus he knows what he is talking about and will get you the right part.
Just follow the advise of the gurus on this forum and you'll have a good experience. Follow the upgrade and reliability advise and be patient.
