MA Long time lurker, finally joining

Hey guys, glad to finally join the fam. Purchased my dream car this summer - 93' FD in Vintage Red. One owner, almost bone stock California car with 48k miles when I bought it (more like 50ish now haha.) I've been lurking on the forum for the last 10-12 years, I had an RX-8 once upon a time and would frequent both RX7Club and RX8Club in those days.

Very glad to be driving and wrenching on a rotary again.

Cheers

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I have most of the service history and a general understanding of the first owner's relationship with the car.

He lived about an hour north of Los Angeles bought it new in 1993. and drove it pretty regularly throughout the 90's. Drove it less and less as he got older, garaged it an basically stopped driving it all together about 10 years ago. Did some maintenance on it that to me implied he planned to eventually sell; antenna rebuild, replaced faulty switches in the interior etc. New tires about five years ago which are still basically brand new. I'm not sure if the gentleman passed away and his family sold it or he chose to just finally part with the car. I didn't deal directly with them unfortunately.

Since I've got it though I've just basically been doing maintenance and hitting the common points of failure. Removed the pre-cat and replaced it with an HKS downpipe, replaced the AST with one from Petit. I also had a new head unit installed since the CD player was dead on arrival. Kept the Bose Wave system, which now all run from one JL Audio amp instead of all the separate individual ones. Everything works well, I'm really enjoying it. Plan is to just take care of the car and enjoy it as is for a few summers before the inevitable rebuild.
Look forward to being a part of the community and tapping everyone's extensive knowledge.

Sounds like it was well cared for and maintained well. Incredible example overall and finding one that was as loved as this car was is really the best case scenario.
