Long Time Lurker
Long Time Lurker
Hi! Long time lurker, first time having an account on the forum. I'm young and stupid, so I'll probably be on here mostly looking for advice.
My story with rotaries isn't anything special. My dad has owned several 1st gens and a couple of FC's, and in 201X he bought an '84 GSL-SE. He also decided that he really wanted a 370Z back, so he picked up one of those (how I wish you could still get a decent GSL-SE for only $2.5k) and said I could have the 7 if I worked on it. Now in my 20somethings, i'm in a decent place to put in the time, work, and effort into fixing up the SE. She had a bit of surface rust and trim needs work, so she's been sanded down to almost bare metal from an ugly beige colour. I'm hoping to paint her Black Cherry, the same one used on a couple of Shinka RX-8's.
Other than that, I've worked as a Fitness Trainer (had to stop for a bit for school and helping out a family member), and that's pretty much what has fuelled my rotary addiction. I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to cars, but I want to learn as much as I can! So don't be afraid to hold my hand and call me stupid for making a dumb error as I catalogue my amateur escapades in restoring the glory of this car.

Welcome to the club! Definitely post some pics of your project. You've joined the right place for the vast amount of archived knowledge, definitely spend some time researching through the threads if you have any questions as I'm sure questions you may have has been answered several times over in the past few decades.
Welcome to the forum!! I have a Light Beige GSL-SE as well. At first I wasnt a fan of the color but its grown on me and I actually like it now. Either way, it looks like an awesome car to restore and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on it in the 1st Gen section!
