let me introduce myself..

hello everyone!

long story short, my dad had a 2nd gen rx7 non turbo (this is all i know about it) when i was about 6/7 years old, ever since its been my dream car.

i very recently seized the opportunity to acquire a FD rx7 twin turbo, the only problem is, rotary engines are obviously quite different, maintenence-wise, to normal engines i work on day in day out at my workplace.

i am a student studying motor vehicle engineering in the UK and i would like to basically find out as much information about my RX7 before i start working on it so i dont ruin it.

as im a student my budget varies every month; i currently drive a mazda mx5 shown in my avatar pic, used as my daily runaround... so everything i do will take time (as time=money... and it takes me a long time to get good earnings)

i would like to find out/get advice from experts in the forums about what i can/should and look out for do to my beast to make it as safe as possible before modding it.

first things first, how can i find out the exact specification of my car?

according to my MOT certificate i have an efini, and looking at the engine its a twin turbo... & the chassis number is FD35... don't know the significance of this.

its not in perfect shape... but have a look and see:

looking forward to hearing from you all, yaz.

Welcome welcome...

There is so much information on this site it's ridiculous. I'm sure you won't have a problem finding your answers.
