Krazy Karl Intro
Hey, My name is Kyle Brunkhorst I am a current student at MS&T majoring in mechanical engineering. I have been interested in cars, bikes, boats and anything that makes power since I was little. I worked at a motorcycle shop for 5 years as a tech. For most of my high school time I was more interested in motorcycles than anything. Loved riding them and making them faster and perform better.
The first time I ever heard of an RX was when me and buddy were playing forza and he showed me it. He explained to me that they had rotary engines and from there my curiosity took off. At first I was much more interested in the engine design rather than the car as a whole. I did a ton of reading on these little power houses and wrote 3 reports on them for various classes including calculus 3. After that my interest in the applications of this design and the RX-7 models grew.
Finally in may of 2009 I acquired a 93' touring model. I drove the car for the entire summer and loved every minute of it all the while making big plans for the car. That winter I installed a gt35r kit, 1600cc and 850cc injectors, dual in tank walbro 255 pumps, v-mount kit, removed AC and emissions, removed OMP, and an AEM stand alone. I also have new rotors, pads, and stainless lines that have not been installed yet. I had it dyno tuned on 93 octane premixed 100:1 @ 14.5 psi the car put out 420whp.
This is as far as I have made it so far. I have more plans for an ignition setup, twin plate exedy clutch, meth injection, and new coil overs. Once the performance of the car is up to my satisfactory, then I will start looking to enhance the looks of the car (paint, interior, wheels, ect)
The car is amazing and I absolutely love mopping the streets with all the dated push rods out there. Rotary all the way!
